Rusty Krouse is a licensed general contractor with superior craftsmanship, expert knowledge, and the finest attention to detail. It’s no wonder Breanna and Rusty have designed and built one-of-a-kind homes for 20 years around the Sacramento area.

Featured on HGTV and DIY network shows, including Kitchen Crashers, House Crashers, Yard Crashers, and America’s Most Desperate Kitchens. Together Brenna and Rusty have built a solid foundation for K Squared and the entire team to continue their promise of elegantly designed and exceptionally built homes for generations to come. Every home created is thoughtful, with personalized touches to compliment your design and build’s fine details.

Let’s explore the possibilities.

The Architects of K Squared | design + build

RUSTY KROUSE, CSLB 967411

owner/builder

Rusty’s construction career started in the mid 90’s working for a structural steel company that specialized in the fabrication and construction of low to mid-rise commercial buildings. In the early 2000s, he transitioned to the residential industry working primarily for two large local home builders. He ultimately lead a custom home division for a long-standing community builder, which included building numerous multi-million dollar homes including houses for the owners and senior management. Rusty obtained his general contracting license in 2006 as ‘R.E.Krouse Construction.’ In 2011, Rusty and his wife Brenna, incorporated and re-branded the business name to K Squared.

Nearly 2 decades later, the company has grown from a small, home-based business to a full-scale General Contracting & Design Firm. Rusty and Brenna (and many others in the K Squared Crew) have been featured on various HGTV and DIY network TV shows, both as designers and builders.

Outside of the business, Rusty spends much of his time watching his daughter play soccer and his son play hockey. Rusty can also be found at the local ice rink where he works part-time as a USA Hockey-certified youth and adult ice hockey instructor.

BRENNA KROUSE, CCID 6919

owner/interior designer

Brenna is a California certified interior designer accredited through CCID. She has spent many years as a design consultant for the Sacramento area’s leading home builders. Style Magazine awarded her as Best Interior Designer in 2020, 2021 and 3rd place in 2019. Her work can be seen on HGTV and DIY network shows.

In 2003 she helped open the multi-million dollar design center for Richmond American Homes. In 2006 she left the home building industry to start R.E. Krouse Construction (renamed K-Squared). Not only is she married to a general contractor, but her background in home building further led to her license as a general contractor. Brenna’s experience and creativity give her an innovative interior design and remodeling perspective. Her favorite aspect of projects is seeing the potential in what they can make of a space. Every project is a “puzzle” that has a perfect fit.

Beyond K Squared, you can find Brenna and Rusty playing on an ice hockey team, cheering for their daughter on the soccer field, or their son on the hockey rink.

JORDAN TRAYNOR

Project manager

Jordan comes from a property management and construction background that together, combine to provide excellent client experience for K Squared. For years Jordan worked in large scale property management, managing 400+ unit apartment communities that helped develop his customer communication and satisfaction skills. After, he transitioned to a Project Manager role with a real estate investment company.  During his time in this position he expanded his construction knowledge and  understanding of job scheduling to create a more efficient and productive job site. With his combined experience, Jordan helps bridge the gap that is often missed in construction but is in our opinion one of the most important, client communication.
