K Squared is a design and build collaboration by licensed interior designer Brenna Krouse and her husband and licensed general contractor Rusty Krouse. Brenna was a designer for numerous local and national home builders and designed model and spec homes in the greater Sacramento region for nearly 10 years before committing full time to the new family business. Rusty started his construction career in structural steel fabrication and went on to be a superintendent and project manager for various builders before eventually starting his own company in construction and remodeling. Brenna and Rusty founded the business in 2006 as R E Krouse Construction and creatively renamed the business in 2012 to its current brand; K Squared.
We specialize in design, space planning, construction plans & specifications, 3-dimensional color renderings of proposed designs and of course – the building component to make it all a reality. We focus on providing a true ‘concept to completion’ one-stop shop. We are NOT like other contractors or even other design and build firms. We have a unique approach to our process and eliminate the headaches that come with typical contractor practices & methodology that truly give good contractors a bad name. We work with our clients to make the process as seamless and stress free as possible, all while fully understanding how difficult these types of projects can be for a family especially when trying to live in the home during the course of construction.
Rusty first founded the company in 2006 under the name ‘R.E.Krouse Construction.’ Since then the company has grown from a small, home business with just a few employees to a full scale Residential & Commercial General Contracting & Design Firm. In 2011, Rusty and his wife Brenna - a Certified Interior Designer incorporated the business and named it K Squared. Rusty and the K Squared crew can be seen doing what they do best on several HGTV and DIY network shows including Kitchen Crashers, House Crashers, Yard Crashers and America's Most Desperate Kitchens.
Brenna spent many years as a design consultant for some of the Sacramento area’s leading home builders. In 2003 she helped open the brand new multi-million dollar design center for Richmond American Homes. In 2006 she left the home building industry to help with the start up of R.E. Krouse Construction. Since then her duties have expanded to not only design services but financial services as well. Brenna is a certified interior designer licensed in the state of California. Her work can be seen on several HGTV and DIY shows including Kitchen Crashers, House Crashers and America's Most Desperate Kitchens.
Jordan comes from a property management and construction background that together, combine to provide excellent client experience for K Squared. For years Jordan worked in large scale property management, managing 400+ unit apartment communities that helped develop his customer communication and satisfaction skills. After, he transitioned to a Project Manager role with a real estate investment company. During his time in this position he expanded his construction knowledge and understanding of job scheduling to create a more efficient and productive job site. With his combined experience, Jordan helps bridge the gap that is often missed in construction but is in our opinion one of the most important, client communication.
