Remodeling Contractor in Roseville
Ten minutes from the Galleria, and close enough to Old Town that we have opinions about the pizza.
Next door
Roseville sits directly next to Granite Bay, where our office is. For most of Roseville the drive is ten or fifteen minutes, which means a question that comes up on site gets answered on site, the same day, rather than in an email the following week.
It also means we know the housing stock. Roseville covers everything from the older streets around Old Town to the large developments west of Fiddyment, and a remodel in one is not the same job as a remodel in the other.

Roseville runs its own power company
Roseville is an incorporated city, so the building permit comes from the City of Roseville rather than Placer County. That part is normal enough.
What catches people out is Roseville Electric. The city runs its own electric utility rather than buying from the regional one, so anything touching your electrical service — a panel upgrade, a service increase, a new meter for an ADU — goes through the city's own utility on its own timeline. On a remodel that adds circuits or a second unit, that is a real scheduling item and not a footnote. We plan around it rather than discovering it.
What a remodel costs in Roseville
We are not going to print a number here, because the range would be wide enough to be useless. What actually drives it is whether a wall is carrying load, where the plumbing and gas runs sit, whether the panel has room for what you want to add, and the level of the finishes.
What we will do is give you a real budget range early, built on measured drawings of your house rather than an estimate made standing in the driveway. That happens in the first phase of pre-construction.
The work happens on paper first
Before anything is priced, we work the project out on paper under a Pre-Construction Services Agreement — design, selections, engineering and the permit set, finishing in one proposal that carries the scope, the schedule and a fixed price. It takes eight to sixteen weeks, and it is the reason the price holds afterwards. The four phases are set out in full on our remodeling page.
Who you would be working with
Brenna Krouse is a licensed interior designer and Rusty Krouse is a licensed general contractor. They founded K Squared Construction in 2006 and have spent twenty years designing and building around Sacramento.
Both are in the room for the first walkthrough, which means the drawing and the build are the same conversation rather than two firms pointing at each other.
Where to go next
Roseville questions
Does a panel upgrade take longer in Roseville?
It can, and it is worth planning for. Roseville runs its own electric utility rather than using the regional one, so a panel upgrade, a service increase or a new meter goes through the city's utility on its own timeline. On a remodel that adds circuits or an ADU meter, we treat that as a scheduled item rather than something to discover halfway through.
City or county permit?
City. Roseville is incorporated, so the building permit comes from the City of Roseville rather than Placer County — different from unincorporated Granite Bay a few minutes away, which goes to the county. We prepare the permit set and handle the submittal as part of the job.
How far is your office from Roseville?
Ten to fifteen minutes for most of the city. Our office is on Sierra College Boulevard in Granite Bay, next door to Bayside Church, which puts Roseville immediately next door rather than across the region.
Can you build an ADU in Roseville?
Usually, but the lot decides. Setbacks, utility routing, the electrical service and what the city will allow all come before a floor plan is worth drawing — and in Roseville the utility question carries more weight than it does elsewhere. That is the first conversation.
Is the construction price fixed?
The construction contract is a fixed price, and it is fixed because of everything settled before it is written. Allowances and exclusions are spelled out in the same document rather than left vague. Changing your mind mid-build is a change order, but they stop being the routine monthly surprise they are on a job priced off incomplete drawings.
